LEXINGTON SEPAC/SEPTA

PARENTS SUPPORTING PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN LEXINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

ADHD Parent Support Group

The ADHD Parent Support Group is a sub-group of the Lexington Special Education Parent Teacher Association.

We are parents who have a student (or students!) with an ADHD diagnosis in Lexington Public Schools, or think that they may have one and need to talk with and learn from other parents.  We meet periodically throughout the school year.

For more information about this group, please contact Jennifer Yaar at jennifer.yaar@gmail.com, or visit https://www.lexadhd.com/

What is ADHD?

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is
a common disorder that impacts focus, self-control and other skills
important in daily life. It’s caused by differences in brain anatomy and
wiring, and often runs in families.  Symptoms vary, but many people
with ADHD struggle with:

  • Working memory
  • Flexible thinking
  • Managing emotions
  • Self-regulation
  • Organization and planning
